With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?
We actually had just announced our band online one month before the pandemic was announced. At this time I was super focused on pushing out entertaining content online, making visuals and graphics to accompany our music, such as the "Let It Out" music video and we had just started talking to our now official manager, Jonathan Garrett! I also think the initial lockdown really gave us a chance to self-evaluate, kind feel each other out as band members and discover who I and we wanted to be as Los Saints.
How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?
During the initial pandemic on and off lockdown years, we didn't have anything huge planned that got foiled by the pandemic. We just kept doing our thing and released a couple Spotify singles, but hadn't really made a statement with those singles, as in stomping our feet on the ground to say "We are Los Saints" type of statement you know? So in early 2021, when talk began of venues re-opening, so did our talk of making an ep. As a result, after venues began opening up in April of 2021, we recorded our ep in May of 2021 and began playing shows after that.
What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?
Recently, we been preparing the release of our new music for 2022 by making things like sweatshirts, beanies because beanies are cool and it's been way too cold these days, and making more music! Some of which could maybe even go on an album *cough *cough.
How are dealing with the Covid fifth wave? Have things locked down again in your region? Have you had to cancel gigs, tours, etc.? Are things reopening & restrictions are lifting in your region? Have you booked any new gigs, tours, etc.? What are your plans for 2022?
Our region wasn't affected all that much except for the mask mandate being a focal point again. Other than that, no venues around us have closed or anything. As for our band, the first song of the ep, "Fouund You Somewhere", is set to come out February 18th 2022, accompanied with an un-official small tour to showcase the rest of the ep, supported by Enci Records, a label that we signed to in November 2021. Lots of firsts for sure.
